Global Animal Partnership
In 2008, the Global Animal Partnership 5-Step Animal Welfare Review labeling program was founded. GAP created a 5-Step program that is verified by audits conducted on every farm, in order to influence the food industry, raise consumer expectations, and create a sustainable environment.
IMI Global, a division of Where Food Comes From, Inc., is an approved certification body for the GAP standard. They audit farms, ranches and feedyards seeking GAP certification. The GAP audit takes place every 15 months, ensuring that every different season and different production cycles has been through an audit. The GAP program offers animal welfare certification for beef, pork, chicken turkey goat, bison, lamb, and laying hens.
